Ne-yo says in an interview with Capital FM the reason he chose Chip as an opening act for his "Mr Smith" tour is because:
“His work ethic. I like people that are like that, because he’s still a fairly young dude but he works and you can tell he really wants to get there you know, so I dig that about him and that’s why he’s there."
As a gift for helping him out on tour, Ne-Yo gives Chip a bottle of champagne.
